Quick Handguard Question

I've been given a pair of Yamy metal handguards ..but...it looks like I need the original bar ends for correct fitting???

I've got a set of plastic UFO's on at the moment & those are mounted without the bar ends. Before I start undoing nuts & bolts I wanted to confirm whether I need to use them or not(not to sure where the bar ends are )

Oh and I had a look through the gallery but couldnt find any close up pics.

You do need to use the bar end weights with the Yamaha type.

Doh!!!

Yeah I found out while having a fiddle with the UFO's that are on there now. Also seems that the UFO inner bit has wedged itself solid & won't budge

The Yamaha hand guards come with a couple of metal spacers that replace the bar end weights. They really are just a couple of simple cylinders of aluminium with a bolt hole down the centre. If you haven't got them it should be reasonably easy (and cheap) to get a set made or to find something similar to adapt.
