TKC80 vs Anakee Wild
Hi All
just replaced the rear Anakee Wild after 2600 miles, centre knobs were all but gone.
went for the TKC80 130/80 17, they seem a bit wider on the rim than the AWs even though sizes were they same.
only done a few miles, bit on road and a quick blast off road and so far this rear is much better than the AW.
Nowhere near as nervous on the road, the AW always felt a bit "tippy" like they were always ready to let go and gassing it off a corner I could feel it creeping (not sliding, not that brave), maybe the knobs walking under power. TKC, on the other hand feel planted, nice smooth roll into the corner and no creep on the exit.
didnt really have any complaints for the AW off road, seemed capable enough, but the TKCs feel much better, grip on slatey rocks and in the loose bouldery stuff far better. Turn in on loose surfaces much more confidence inspiring. The ride quality also seems improved, like they have more compliance over the rocks (running at 32 PSI).
still have the AW in the front, its wearing well, but will look at a TKC when that finally gives up.
will update after a few more miles and more varied conditions, thumbs up, so far
Dave
