Tail pipe silver colour removal

Hi guys,

One of the my tail pipes silver coating has been removed (that's how i bought it), the previous owner mentioned it was removed with high pressured water (not sure i believe), anyway i would like to remove the other tail pipes silver coating too, so both of them will be black. any ideas how? i tried high pressure water and turpentine.... didn't work.

thanks!

I'd rather remove the silver coating rather than painting... it would have a better look.
