Did a few recent rides and it feels like the xt is not really happy in top gear at 110. Would it be better to install a smaller rear sprocket like maybe a 43t and if where in Aus would i be able to find a company that can supply good quality chain and sprockets?

are you talking about 110mph or kmh?

if you mean mph than what is the reason you want the top speed higher or with lower RPM?

these bikes aren't exactly designed for high top speeds and it will make it slower on acceleration too

xtx, I just installed a 16t front sprocket because I felt the same, I commute everyday on about 75 k's of freeway, felt like I was killing it.....

It now cruises about 120 k.p.h. on about 4,000 rpm (GPS), it feels so much more comfortable and the speedo now reads a 2 k.p.h. difference.

I haven't ridden it off road as yet so I can't comment on that.
