compromise on off road
Hey lads,
Alright I wanted to buy some new tires as the metzeler tourances are just the worst ! The yare good off road and on road but as as soon as it gets wet , I do not like them slip all the time !! I decided to change tires and wanted to take the TKC70. Only problem I have with them is that I heard about a wobble and especially with 21 '' rims !! Anyone experienced with TKC70 on XT660 ??? |

The TKC70 is fine; it's a good road tyre and works well at higher speeds on tarmac. The weave/wobble you are referring to is associated with the TKC80. Don't expect too much of the TKC70 off-road though.

do not buy the TKC70. I mounted them , have wobbles at high speed and can barely steer. They are very bad and even when going bac kto the garage they told me they are only suited for off road riding and cannot fix my issue. Tire problems on big rims like 21'' are still active as my tire is 48/2016. Just putting it out there because now I have to buy new tires lol and a lot of extra waiting !

I am beyond happy with the Avon Trekrider's I fitted. ...brilliant road grip and straight line stability. ...and much better off road than my old Distanzia's. 1500 miles on them with a good rate of wear. Perfect! Steve

I would also NOT buy the TKC70 - i have a separate wheel-set with the Michelin T63's on it for the dirt and Michelin Anakee's III for the street.
Many swiss and german colleagues ride the T63's on and off-road. cheers from south, Andy
