Bosnia Conflict 1991 - 1999 route advice
Hi - Mods please delete if you feel this is too commercial a post.
I am in the very Very early planning stages to do a road based tour of the main sites in the Bosnian conflict. Planning a ride over 7 days starting in our base in Samokov - Bulgaria heading to Serbian border approx 2 hours away. i guess about 200 kilometers's riding a day max? Below are some destinations suggested to us. Do you have any others, or any epic routes between these destinations? Figure doing a top 7 destinations and try and make a glorious route inbetween them.... National parks and other sites. Gorazde Sarajevo, Mostar, Jablanica, Vitez, Donji Vakuf, Mrkonic Grad, Sipovo, Glamoc, Livno, Split. Any others? any specific places we should also include? and we can look at adding them to the route. Cheers Dave

Hi Dave.
Wonderful country and so many options. At least, when you are near Mostar, do not miss Kravice waterfalls. Paradise should look like that on hot day with beer in the hand. Trebinje is also nice small city. And if you include Monte Negro on the way... I have been there couple times and always is something more to see. It can be really great route. Petre |

I would love to go back to Bosnia and be able to travel around freely.
It has already been 18 years since I served there as a part of SFOR, and I found the country very pretty. Especially the mountains and lakes near Glamoc were beautiful. |
