Leaking coolant

Hi all. I ve a little problem with the XTX. Its leaking a wee bit of coolant near the readiator. There's no obvious cracks in the expansion thingy or the radiator itself. The hoses are fine. Ive already replaced the radiator cap to no avail.

Its leaking a few drops every ride. More so when I hammer the bike (pressure related, Im sure). The drops accumulate at the bottom of the lowest hose where it enters the engine.

Is this a common fault on the XTX? Any suggestions as to what it might be? miniature crack invisible to the naked eye somewhere or something?

All the hose clamps tight? Hard to say without seeing it. One of the Trucks at work used to randomly loose coolant all looked fine but when you squeezed the lower hose it leaked like a sponge. Maybe your hoses are old? Check all joints and clamps physically with a spanner/screwdriver. Also check that the radiator cap is tightened all the way up to a sort of second click, as I lost a bit of coolant once cap wasn't screwed all the way round after checking the radiator level. Failing that perhaps a bike shop could pressure test the system for you?

How old are the hoses? I had some weeping despite looking in good nick. Also there was plenty of crud where the hose goes over the lip which I cleaned off when replacing the hoses.

Id say they re the original hoses. But there s only a trace of leaking coolant on the lowermost hose. and the leaking starts above where the hose connects to the radiator it seems. Just to be save Ive cut off a bit of the top of the hose and refitted it. The leaking is still there.

exactly what I had with mine. didn't look like enough to be the culprit, but swapped them out and cured it no problem, going to a dealer actually worked out cheaper than any other options I found online.
