According to my receipt from Teknik, mine were fitted with the road type. They where fairly stiff to start with but have become more plush with a few K's on them. I rarely get to proper gnarly stuff as seen in some of yours & jon660z's photo's which the dirt version is more likely aimed towards, but the road one's suit me very well on dirt gravel roads.
Might be worth an email to them to see what suits your style jo75. But just don't expect a quick answer as I found communications a bit slow with them.

The Ohlin's shock is great at the rear, a bit over priced but it should be the first & only time I'll change it!!. Being firmer under acceleration the bike feels quicker of the mark with the lack of squatting down on take off.
