Re route cables

At the Xt660.com meet up I asked Pleiades for advice on my overly tight throttle cables..I have bar risers and on full lock the cables were under a lot of strain. Today I finally got round to re-routing the cables as advised. Steve

A straight forward job...usual faff taking the tank off. Once the cables are undone it's easy to see where to re-route them . The extra bit of slack gained takes away the strain at the handlebar end....problem solved!

On a different matter. ...I made a mental note to always fit wired in lights with quickly detachable connectors!!...saves a lot of hassle. Steve

Good job Steve.

For those that might want to do this, essentially all you need to do is re-route both throttle cables outside and over (rather than under/behind) the oil return pipe that goes into the left hand side of the frame tank (see pic.)

An unexpected benefit from taking the 'tension' out of the throttle cables is the bike steers straight and true when coasting along 'hands off'....it always steered strongly to the left before. Steve
