Any tips for not destroying an inner tube?
Did my first tyre change on my 660R yesterday. Got the rear done pretty quickly with just a set of levers. Inflated to 30psi. Checked this morning and it's completely flat, so it looks like I'm going to have to order a new tube.
Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid the above set back? Also any tips for changing an inner tube without a full tyre change. Thanks in advance!

Put a little air in the tube first, plenty of lube, use blunt-ended levers when spooning it back on and keeping checking/be careful!

Thanks for the replies chaps. I did inflate the tube to unfold it but then I completely deflated it during fitting
![]() Oh well. New tube in the post and I'll be raiding the wife's make-up bag for some talc.

I've always used wetted soap on the edges or even dishwasher liquid and water on all the tyre lips help it slip in easier

Start tyre removal at the valve undo the locking ring that holds the valve and screw it up to the valve cap so you can push the valve and inner tube away from the rim then insert the tyre levers DO NOT PUSH THEM IN TOO FAR. Fit the new tyre on the rim (check tyre rotation direction) then talcam powder all the inner tube, put it in the tyre then add enough air in the tube to give it some shape. Starting opposite the valve, lever the tyre on evenly in small increments keep checking around the rim for the tube trapping between tyre and rim. when it starts to get hard to lever the tire on release the valve so air can be sqeezed out, for the final ten inches of tyre ensure the tyre is in the well opposite the valve and finish fitting at the valve with the valve pushed in as far as possible the lock ring will stop it going inside the rim, this stops the tyre and levers trapping the tube. DONT RUSH IT.
