Goodbye 2015 Ride
Some milder temps along the Australian East Coast running up to the New Year period have provided the opportunity to get out for a solid days riding.
Didn't take much effort to gather a small group of riders together. Particularly when it was hinted we would be doing some "SECRET" trails that are normally kept tightly under wraps. 12 hours, 450K's, several swollen causeways, one Red Bellied Black Snake encounter, and two fallen trees negotiated later, we were all home safely, hot, tired and sore from our efforts but still smiling and prepared to bring the New Year in in style. Our New Year resolution being to do more rides like this in 2016..... Happy New Year to all. Apologies for the picture quality...most were taken with phone camera. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice & green down there Seahorse. I'd love to come for look down that way some time but will be a while before I get my holiday quota back up again after an overseas trip.
This looks like a good opportunity to ride with Charley Boorman but can't see me making it. http://www.compassexpeditions.com/to...-high-country/ |

If you give me enough notice I could arrange something down this way.....2016 however is going to be a hectic year for me, doing the Snowy High Country Huts in April and 3 weeks in September doing the Flinders Ranges. Along with the regular day rides and half a dozen overnighters. (Cramming as much in as possible before age catches up with me!!!) Not too keen on riding at this time of the year though...Not only do you have the heat to contend with but the 4X4 owners are all on holiday at the same time and they have a completely different interpretation of road rules to the rest of us.... You will pay a lot of money to ride with celebrities like Boorman...Personally I am not interested in riding tar, preferring to ride mainly dirt with mates who are trail competent and leave their ego at home. A few of us did an overnighter to Oberon a month or so ago and bumped into Lyndon Poskitt on his around Australia adventure (Google him)...He tagged along with us for a while...nice guy!!
