Hi guys

I've recently bought a xt660x from 2005.
Yesterday when riding suddenly the highbeam and indicator light in the dashboard comes on. Both comes and goes but gets more and more steady, until they are both always on. I stop and notice that my there's no light in the headlight when the dashboard lights are on, and the rear right indicator is constantly lit. Front indicators doesn't work at all, but both rear "does", the rear right gets extra bright when blinking, and the left works normally.

The bike is fitted with after market led indicators and it looks to me that the proper resistors and every thing is fitted. I base this on that it has worked perfectly for 2 weeks.

Have any of you guys heard of or seen something similar?
Or have any ideas of what I can do to fix it?

All sounds quite bizarre!

Could be a case of wire abrasion somewhere in the loom and the headlamp/indicator circuits are being bridged somehow? Might also be a bad headlamp earth so it's trying to earth itself through the indicators? Water in the handlebar switch gear will cause strange things to happen too. Occasionally a blown headlamp bulb can cause funny things to happen if the filament collapses in such a way as to cause a temporary short to earth or bridge between connections.

Maybe try a new bulb in the headlamp first? Next, pull off the headlamp bulb's connector (or the headlamp fuse) and see if everything works normally with the indicators. Then try the opposite by pulling the indicator fuse and see if the headlamp works normally. This way at least you'll hopefully narrow down the circuit giving trouble?

Whatever happens, you perhaps want to be checking all the wiring, connectors and switches carefully to see if there's any water ingress, abrasion and/or poor connections.

Edit:

Changed the headlight bulb and now everything works fine. It didn't look blown or anything so I'm guessing there was something weird going on in the bottom socket part.
