Puig engine bars

Hi all,

Wondered if anyone has successfully fitted the lower engine bars? Started it today thinking it would be a 12 minute job but now looking like the exhaust headers need to be removed to get at the front engine mounts on the frame down tube. Am I missing something. (Instructions in the box are completely useless by the way).

All sorted by what a frigg....only possible with two people in case anyone's thinking of buying them. Personally, I wouldn't bother.

thanks for the feedback, i was considering them... so you need 4 hands to do it? Did you have (by chance) a third person to take pictures of the process?

It would have been much easier if the instructions weren't so bloody poor...tiny little diagrams. Plastic protection plates above the engine have to come off and the rectifier has to be unscrewed and moved to one side.

You'll need a drift to tap the original bolts out and to help put the new ones in. The torquing up is a nightmare for one person because you can't see both sides of the engine at the same time, and the bolt heads / nuts are tricky to get to. We had to use flexible knuckles on the sockets to get in. It's ok as long as you have plenty of time, patience and can't think your way around problems. It seems that there are other bars that are easier to fit from other comments on here, however I'm slightly sceptical as they'll be using the same fixing points I would have thought.

Good luck. P
