            Is this properly installed?

This week i received a box from Off the Road with some goodies among which the foam air filter set. Cos i plan on riding dirt and stuff.
I've swapped the filter. My stage 2 filter cover consists of two parts. It can be mounted with or without the inner ring, so it seems. Now i'd like to know if the way i mounted the stage 2 is a problem. The filter is held down by the outer ring, so that is mandatory (duh) But i can also put the second ring in as shown below (for demonstration purposes it is just laid on top): I cant see why i should use the second ring also. With it, the air intake is reduced, or am i missing something? |

The second ring is a restrictor insert and does just that - restricts the airflow.
The idea of the restictor ring is to allow the fitting of a Stage 2 cover without any fuelling mods. You do not need this restrictor as you have a PCV which should adjust the fuelling to suit the full effect of the open Stage 2 cover. |

I probably will look into a PC Autotune, because after my mods, the current tune probably wont match anymore. And it will be about the same cost as dyno tuning. Perhaps i'll start a thread with all the mods i'm doing to my bike |
