Sat Nav
Hi All,
What sat navs do people use? and can they be mounted on the dash bar behind the screen? are there waterproof ones? or do you need a case? I usually have a map with me but in cities I find the sat nav really useful. I know about the the 12v plug , and probably wont need headphones for it. Any thoughts? Thanks |

Hi, I use a Zumo 350 with Touratech mounting bracket. It's mounted on the dash bar and fits perfect. The Zumo is waterproof.

I use a Garmin Oregon 550 or a Garmin Nuvi 50..
The nuvi 50 is more a road based unit.. The Oregon has Topo maps loaded , Is great for trail /ADV riding.. has the ability to log tracks so yer can later down load / over lay them onto google maps.. Or draw up routes on base camp or map sorce & down load them to the unit to follow when out in the back country.. I quess it's horses for courses in what type of GPS you get.. I removed the speedo on my TTR250 and use the Nuvi 50 powered from the batt.. I got the wire in power surplys off E-bay for about $5NZ each..

Somebody who programmed this GPS was on drugs probably. Never will buy another garmin and I'm looking for new device as well. Maybe tom tom or magellan will do. |
