the previous owner of my Ten lowered the rear of the bike and that's OK since it allows me to almost put the whole feet on the floor for both legs.

But, although the bike is very stable at high speed, I think at low speed the bike could a bit more agile. So, to improve this, I thought about lower the front, or raising the rear.

The thing is that the preload on the shock is at its maximum (I expect to replace the spring next year for a Hyperpro):




So the only choice without changing the spring is to lower the front forks, by:
a) Decreasing preload, which I dont want, since the the front suspension is already too soft in my opinion.
b) Lowering the forks. I want to go down that route. Although this will be temporal until I fit Hyperpro springs.

THe question is, how much do you reckon is the maximum I can lower the front fork? 30mm max?

Any advice of how this should be done? Should I lower the forks with the wheel on? Is it better to take it off?
The bike has a centre stand, so putting some weight on the rear should allow me to lift the front wheel from the floor.

Any advice welcome.

Simple. Just take out the front wheel. undo the bolts on the triple clamp and push the tube up about 10 mm. Then try it out a bit.
