Power up my XTr or buy a KTM 690 Enduro?

I have a 05 XTr with leo vince, KN filter mod and a potensiometer for adjusting air/fuel ratio. Compared to an std XTr the bike is a killer!
But I still miss the extra power to do a wheelie in 70-80 km/h on gravelroads with the right conditions. I do most of my riding offroad or on gravel and very often together with a friend of mine with a KTM 950 SE.
The other day I tested a 690 modified to 75 hp and it was a powerfull, playfull thing I tell you that! But compared to the XT it is a lightweight crossbike and if I could have 75 hp on my XT I wouldn`t change for the world.XT is much more of a real bike and the stability and gravelabilities are fare better on the XT.
So here are my question have anyone on this forum done the stage 3 tuning offered from O-T-R.de they claim their mod will give 67 hp and even more depending off how far to go?
The price off the mod is not scaring compared to the cost of changing to an 690 KTM.

I had a 2011 EnduroR, perfect bike but had to sell it after a desert rally. You can, t compare them both BUT the low rev on XT is really nice.
The 690 is a monster and it gives you a smile always when you touch the throttle. With a right modded XT it will give you a nice bike and a smile when it passes 40000km without a problem!

Thank you,and I see what you mean. It`s a very nice XT you have, is it a XTx with enduro wheels on? And where did you buy the 2-1 exhaust? it looks like the same as they promote at OTR?

Put as meany go fast goodys in the XT motor as yer want...
but it will only be as fast as a KTM 690 on smooth flat ground...

As stated KTM's are great bikes.. but they are not ride & forget bikes..
They give yer tool box a real work out..

I have never owned a KTM... One bike I have never wanted to own..
When I use to ride Enduro's.. most of the bikes at the side of the course
haveing issue's were orange.. but also most of the bikes that would win
the enduro's were also orange...

I use to ride gas Gas.. pitty they do nothing bigger than 450..

There's another thread on here very similar,I agonised over a 690 SMCR I have a fair bit to do with the motorcycle trade and I certainly see some horror stories, in KTM's defence you can always see horror stories with other bikes but there ain't many KTM's out there by comparison and there's a LOT of hassle many I can confirm from personnel experience.

If you have the time and patience and e'rrr money then you will have a great time but if get to talk to guys who know how look after them an XT660 it ain't in more ways then one and that's both good and bad.
