Heated Grips connection...

Looking at fitting R&G heated grips onto my XT660X ready for the winter. Want to connect up to an ignition live so cannot be left on or messed around with when bike parked. Anyone know which colour wire to use. Looking at doing all cable work under seat via a relay unless anyone has better Suggestion.....

Tap into either the brown feed to the rear brake light switch, or the blue/red feed to the tail light; whichever is the easiest to get to.

Only if you're daft enough to connect it to the stop lamp (output) side of the switch, which isn't brown anyway!

Thanks for info, just gotta choose grips now. Might go back to getting Oxford. Always had these in past but Ride Recommend R&G which are a lot cheaper to buy. However they do look a little cheap....

Get the OXFORD Grips and connect straight to battery. They now come with auto shut off so you cannot kill your battery there brilliant. First thing to go on my XTX

The bracket just slots onto the left side front nose fairing bolt perfect. Hope this helps.

Good luck with your choice of grips.
