New hlins shock squeaking! WTF?

Hey,
does anyone know why my new hlins shock i just fitted is squeaking?
The bikes new, and I re-checked the bolts/nuts to make sure they weren't over tight.
Has anyone experienced this when they fitted their new shock?... think it will fix itself after a bit of riding?

Tim.

That doesn't mean a lot when it comes to the suspension linkage being properly lubricated - Yamaha didn't supply grease as standard equipment!

Did you check and re-grease it when you fitted the shock?

A dry top bush can cause irritating sqeaks - try a squirt of teflon spray like GT80 and see if it stops.

IMHO It is unlikely to be the shock itself (and if it is send it back!)

Hi Pleiades,
I greased up all the linkage bearings bearings, so that shouldn't be an issue. You are right about the grease being an extra... poor form Yamaha! I've got some waterproof grease, I should go around and re-grease all the bearings! That can be my chore tomorrow!
I think i have some teflon chain lube somewhere. I'll give the bushes a squirt n see how that goes.

Cheers,
Tim.
