New Dual-Purpose rider

Hi , I am Phil, from Staffordshire, UK area.
I have just purchased myself (well 3 weeks ago) a brand new XT660Z Tenere, so this is the perfect place for me to join.
Loads of great useful info on here, and loving the pics of everyones bikes in the middle of nowhere.

I have come from a 2004 SV1000S so its a little bit different to what Im used to, but I couldnt keep my speed down and considering I use my bike every day to commute to work i needed to slow down (getting old i guess).

So some radical change was required, and a friend was looking to get back in motocycling but again for him his last bike was an R6 and rid it around like a loon, so we both decided to get something to do a bit of green laning on and keep our speeds down.

So I bought mine new and the day I signed for it, he broke his leg drunk on holiday so I guess I gotta wait a bit for some off roading.

But it has worked to slow me down, I am more than happy to sit at 80mph on dual carraigeway and my wrists dont hurt. I have done 900 miles so far in 3 weeks.

Had to sort out a rattling screen but other than that I am loving it.

Thanks for listening

Phil
