Dunlop Trailmax TR91

Just got back from scrubbing in new Trailmax's. Very different to the TKC80 I had before. Very stable and grippy, even new but needs a bit of persuation to corner. Will be alright for our trip next month. It is suppose to be ok off road but just look at it! Who are they kidding? If i ever saw a road tyre. But as I have no plans to go off road whilst away this will be just fine.
See how they behave as they wear.

I've had these on for the last 5000 miles, about to change as the rear is shot (front is still good). I was very impressed with these as an out and out road tyre, very grippy in dry and wet conditions, no weaving and stable at higher speeds. They are useless off piste, unless it is bone dry and not too loose! Interestingly the rear didn't square off like every other tyre I've tried on the Z, but that might be down to the fact I was more inclined to get leant over with these tyres. Going back to TKC next, simply because they're more suited to what I've got planned in the next 12 months, not that the Trailmax was no good. Be interesting to see what your thoughts are after a few thousand miles...

Hi All,

just got back from 4.5k around Ireland and Britain. As mentioned above the grip of these is just incredible. Especially in the wet. I have never backed off so little. Very stable and feeling very firm on the move. A lot of bumps get through to the suspension which i had firmed up a bit to allow for the luggage. The rear is nearly scrap but the front is fine. A bit dissapointing but I guess this is the price you pay for the grip.
As we never had any intention of going off road this was the perfect tire for the purpose. I will put another one on to use up the front tyre. One drawback is that the rear is left with 10mm chickenstrips while the front is used right to the edge.

Yes, I had noticed this also.

Having attempted to fit the TR91s myself and can vouch for the fact they have a VERY stiff carcass, much more so than Tourance and TKC80, which are the other tyres I have used and changed on the Z. Much of this (I think) is down to the fact the OE fitment Tourance and the TKC80 are bias belted and the TR91 is radial.
