Bonjour!
HI all!
Currently riding a GSX750F as my daily ride to and from work (60 miles per day), but looking to get an XT660X. Not sure how I stumbled upon this forum, maybe through londonbikers.com but so far like what I've seen. Hope to be on some new wheels soon, and will let everyone know. If anyone else commutes on an XT660X let me know your thoughts. |

Hi mate.
I've just went down the same route, R1 to XTX. I'm now using it to commute on a 50 odd mile round trip each day. First thing you will notice is the comfort however invest in a set of hand guards as the old hands can get a tad chilly. Also I'm finding that the wind hits me directly in the chest so looking for a taller screen to help this. |

Problem is I had an accident a few years ago and broke one of my lower vertebrae in half and had some serious surgery on my shoulder. I'm 6' 4" (6' 5" on a good day) and am considering my leg position once my toes are on the pegs.
Having sat on an XTX on Saturday, my legs weren't bent at over a 90 degree angle which felt really nice. Although sitting so far forward on the bike meant my feet were more behind me. Will this cause any pain or be an issue? I'll definitely be looking at hand guards and heated grips. I love the look of the bike and think a screen would ruin that, might change my mind after getting a battering from the wind. |
