Rear fender issue on XT660Z Tenere

Hi,
I have mounted a GPR Slip-On Exhaust system on my Tenere. When the stock (car-ish looking) muffler is removed there isn't any protection up under the saddle, I have cut a rubbermat to fit over the hole in the frame but i'm looking for a better solution.

I found one thread about this to cut out some plastic that covers the area under the saddle but i'm looking for a more "innerfenderlooking" solution.

Anyone knows if there is any manufacturer that makes innerfender that could work?

Best regards,
Christer

Hi Christer!

I did something similar with my bike (using a rubber mat) and it actually works very well...

However, if you hang on a few weeks (well, probably months to be honest), I know Rally-Raid Products are intending to develop a rear auxiliary fuel/water tank to fit on the right hand side of the bike when fitted with a single left exhaust... this is likely to fill the space left vacant by the original exhaust, not only be useful but look way cool too...

I used the lid off a plastic paint pot, cut it to shape and fitted it under the seat, bolted to the exhausts mounting bolts. It's worked very well and doesn't let any more crap in than before.

You could try a modified front fender, cut/adjusted with a mounting bracket, but not sure how it would look. It would be trial and error.

A rear hugger is available, some like them, I don't think it suits the off-road orientation of the bike. but we are all different.

Ah, the one and only advantage of getting the official Yamaha Akros - you get a nice piece of perfectly fitting stainless to fill the gap! Sorry that doesn't really help does it!

Yup i know have been looking at their plate and maybe it's the easiest way to go, but i also wan't the area under the seat to be as smooth as possible...

Look at the Akropovic picture below, wouldn't it be nice if there was a good looking inner fender under the seat?
