Tightening inside left exhaust nut (Metal Mule)

i just fitted a metal mule and there is no way i can get the exhaust nut on the inside of the small link pipe tightened. i mean dear god could it be any more tricky lol i have exhausted my supply of allen keys, socket bits etc none of them fit

How did you guys do it?

I used a long ball end allen key... OR
maybe... tighten the tricky side finger tight
while the other side is lose.. the flange should
rock across & tighten up on both nuts when
the easy side is tightened.. may have to do it a couple
of times till you get the flange to sit square with the pipe/head..

mine has tubes with thread one end .... hex in the other end..
assume yours has the same...
