Chain--is something missing?

My chain and sprockets are nearing the end of their life and I was checking them over and wondered if I'm missing something where the red arrow is pointing on the attached pic?

Nothing missing from there Tim unless its missing on my bike as well However there should be a roller attached to the other hole.

Ah! That probably explains why the chain came off the sprocket.
