will it make a difference

i had a tenere a while ago and to be honest against the other XT's i found it a little on the low powered side. If tho, i was to change the air filter and intake, fit the all important KEV mod, and a set of cans, would this make it any better, or, a lot better coz i was getting left behind by other XT riders.... :-(

Not sure what you mean , i had an XTR with cans ,kev mod and a few other mods yet i find the tenere a bit quicker even in standard trim than my old XTR .

102 mph XTR with mods ,
108 mph Tenere standard trim ,these were done on a private road and gps tracking for more accurate speed results

I'm still not sure whether to buy DNA filter +snorkel.
Can't find any info on people using them without pcv or kev mod.

You must have had a bad one, or maybe it wasn't loosened up enough? How many miles did you have on it?

it only had a 1500 miles on it, im not talking about top speed, thats not interesting to me, its power, tourque, maybe it needed a smaller sprocket?
i still have the XTR and its got 5k on it and pulls very very well.... it feels too small, physicly..

The XTZ is heavier than the R so all things being equal the Z will accelerate slower. My R definately felt more perky when I rode a Z last month but can't comment on top speed. They really are two very different bikes with a different feel.

If you install the full range of DNA filter, stage 1, 2 and 3, and a powercommander, that already will give you a big power gain, right from idle. The cans will improve than even further, especially low end torque. Leo Vince cans work very well, better than the Akra's.

I have seen a 6 to 8 HP gain from the filters, Powercommander and Leo Vince cans on the Tenere. It might sound small, but thats a 15 to 20% gain over stock.

The Kev mod will not be able to supply the required fuel for the set of DNA filters and cans. You will have to go for the PC.

My new stage 3 fuel mod can get the air/fuel ratio down to an avearge of 13.5/1 with my stage 3 airbox with carbon can exhausts on my XTX. But do agree a power commander is the way to go with a custom made fuel map if you want the optimun performance.

Freez you must have missed my past postings with a data logged A/F tests using my wideband commander with the above set up. I have also found a way to turn the O2 senor off to stop the surging on my XT660X.
