Regulator/Rectifier

Hi Everyone, just thought you'd like to know, checked connections to the above today on my '08 Ten and they are fine. There is no sign of corrosion or overheating.
Regards

Had you taken any preventative measures? Is it now new regulator and wiring loom? Is yours an '08 model? Done many miles?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to understand what factors might contribute to the failure and whether I've got it to look forward too.
Cheers

2009, just under 4000, I had put rubber round it and cable tied. Funny thing was it was on the very first dry roads day I commuted on it.

Still at the dealers so what they are going to end up doing to it I don't yet...

Orangejohn, you should be fine. The problem seems to arise when the connector is not pushed fully home and making good connections. You are so right to check it and make sure that the cavity is clean and no water in there. Probably fill with vasaline or similar and make sure that it is fully home. I had the original problem and since a new loom was fitted I have had no more problems.
Not to self, check the connection this weekend!

I've done 30000km's so far and no problem whatsoever. Indeed make sure it's connected firm and sprayed it with protection spray.

Can you give me a name of the protection spray?
