On top of speedometer, I pasted a termometer and a (bought in a chinesse shop...just 4 euro...)But fun when you travel in highway ...and not to get bored...

Nice mods Jaume, I particularly like the bag under the instruments and the white strip on tires. I have been looking for the compass and the thermometer to be put on the exactly same place. Did you make the mount yourself or you just put it on top of the double-sided tape? I would LOVE to buy one but I can't find them here in Germany. BTW, I can't see the "casual tool box". Wrong link may be?

Details.

Hi Josephau.

I will let you know if I can find the themometer and the compass . It is very easy to install and cost only 4.-. If you like them, I can mail to you. I used special plastic glue to fix them. They are portable, so you can insert o remove the devices by a simple finger pression.
.
For the casual tool box, I will insert a new image.

Jaume.

Looks great! I am curious about the compass. I did try this on my previous bike and it didn't work (too much iron, and magnetism I guess).

Is this compass working correctly, or is it just for show? I am interested because I do walk in the mountains with a compass, and would like to use this great instrument on my bike too.

Regards, Borus

Wow, that would be great Jaume. Of course, I will transfer the money for the items and the shipment once you find them. Many thanks.

I like your mods, Jaume. I really like your "casual tool box" and I like where you put it, simple, elegant, practical, and low center of gravity. I wonder though if it would be better that you position the tube on top of the engine guard bar instead of under it as shown on your pic. Why? I reckon it would minimize the possibility of getting hit on some tough off-road ground, and let the bashplate take the hit first. Have you tested how waterproof it is? I mean literally sink the whole tube under water, similar to when you ride cross a knee-deep high river. I recall seeing some similar tube structure sold at outdoor/camping stores that is waterproof. Of course, I would double bag it in an Ortlieb or something similar. It looks like your tube could possibly hold a couple cans of chain cleaners/lubs in addition to tools too. That would be bonus. Still, great stuff, Jaume. ALso, the thermometer and the compass are exactly what I have been looking for. Perfect.

Silva who make compass's for in-car/4x4 use also do a small one as I recall - which would be good for a bike?
