Picked up my Red on saturday !!!
Picked up my 2009 Yamaha Tenere in London Saturday afternoon.
There was a 2h delay on the schedule as the dealer had not fit any of the accessories ! As the bike and the accessories were on 2 different invoice, the guy who prepared the bike wasn't given the accessory list. They also said they couldn't fit the alarm as there's no space for it ! I argued saying that it is on the Yamaha accessory list but they said there's no instruction provided as to where to place the box. So I was refunded. Anyway, after this slight delay, we hit the road. A boring stretch of Motorway to Oxford and then N road. We rode a bit further and stopped for the night as rain and hailstones fell down on us. Sunday, we crossed Wales. Fabulous. The section between Abergavenny and Brecon is fantastic. No wonder there was about 100 bike parked in the sun and more on the road coming toward us. And then the magic happened: a GS1200 rider nodded to me first ! I have goosebumps just thinking about this moment http://www.irishbikerforum.com/forum...ault/smile.gif The rest of the trip was very good, except for the fact that we missed our ferry by 15mn..... and had to wait 3h for the next. The bike behaved beautifully. it was a bit frustrating to have to be careful since it's still in "break in" period, but otherwise very nice. It is of course a major change from the VFR. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0505.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0464.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0465.JPG http://lh5.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0466.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0469.JPG http://lh5.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0471.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0472.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0473.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0475.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0501.JPG http://lh5.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0503.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0504.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_tL3EwxTEUng/Sd...0/DSCF0525.JPG |
I don't know who Yamaha get to take thier pictures, but,,,
I saw a red one in J&L on Saturday - they look really good, I was impressed. So why is it that Yamaha make them look crap in the pictures? the same was true for the Desert Khaki (Racing Gold) I just don't understand. The Blue is another that looks the dog's b....'cks in the flesh - but awfull in the yamaha blurb.
Nice bike zOU, a couple of days out and you'll soon have it run in. |
Yep, already 591km on the clock.
Half way there :) |
Sure looks great Zou, I'm sure you'll also get loads of curiosity when you get back home and start to ride out and give her some exposure!:icon_rabbit:

Stunning zOU! Captain, do you reckon zOU is the first with the red in this forum? :3chat::038:

He might well be the first one with the red, but one thing is for sure I saw all the new colour in the flesh at the Birmigham show in Nov 08 and its tru that they look stunning up close much better than the pictures on the Yamaha website. They red ones are in fact my favourite.
Well done Z0u nice wheels. |

Just a quick post to let you know that my beloved red is gone.
The new owner was smitten by the color amongst all the XTZ on offer 2nd in France. That, and of course the excellent price/mileage/accessories installed ratio :) I'm sure she will have many happy miles (or km :D ) on it, and her husband wants one too :p Have fun and stay safe.:occasion14: I'm now riding a slightly larger bike: https://scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...23&oe=56A8735D |
Enjoy your new ride! Steve
