Just changed mine

Probably not alot of help now, but if I'd seen this on Friday I could have helped. Anyway, mine were well shot, but not just worn and crushed, the rubber turned to a big black sticky marshmallow (not the Dairylea JMo promissed!), took a bl00d age to get all the crap out, and there's no way Kev's mod would have worked - Your's might be different, I may have had some iffy rubber to start, but once apart, what was left was just a sticky mess - not even sure if I could have re-assembled it.

All sorted now, just waiting for the force 8 to die down, and the hail, and the snow then maybe I'll get here out for a test ride (just to be sure :toothy5:)

JT USA are listing 45, 46, 47, 48 tooth options on the JTR 855 pattern so any size should be able to be sent via overnight freight (eg, Fedex) to you asap.
Failing that, a race bike shop should be able to machine out a 5/8 x 1/4 plate chainwheel and drill holes on a 145pcd to fit your sprocket carrier, a little expensive though, but you could try a big smile........:Christo_pull_hair:, whoops, I meant.....:icon_biggrin:.

Timpo, you're a star... (I was trawling their online catalogue last night too - excellent resource!) - looks like the XJ600 one is the one to order, the only problem is it's at least a 10 year old bike (and never that popular here), so it may not be a stock item in the US warehouse... I'll ask the question first thing tomorrow though...

Alternatively, the closest I could find is a DRZ400 sprocket - it's 1mm different (typical huh?) and would need the bolt holes drilling out to 10.5mm - but with a bit of jiggle I reckon it would fit as a temporary measure - just as long as you centre it really well, or else the chain will suffer again...

Just a quick update...

I've managed to order a JT rear sprocket plus a rear TKC80 tyre, both on overnight delivery - yea!

They only had a 47T sprocket available (and only three of those in the whole USA!), but that's fine as I wanted to gear down a little anyway, and certainly need a new chain too... cush bearing is on the shelf, so we ought to be back together tomorrow afternoon... phew!

So, in the meantime, since the sun is blazing it is a balmy 80 degrees here in North Carolina, I've been riding a few of the local roads... there is one called Hwy 129 which is rather fun (Google Deal's Gap) - believe me, it is every bit as good as the hype! There are plenty more spectacular roads in the region too - Hwy 28 is another corker, as is the Foothills Parkway and Cherohala Skyway - all awesome fun, no traffic and breathtaking views! - just a shame my tyres are so square after those 3000 miles in Florida!
