Which handguards for the Tenere (non wrap around type)

As above, I'm looking for a set of handguards to keep the wind chill off my hands. I want the type that you you used to see on dt125's etc. Which ones fit and where can i get them? Cheers

i think Old Git Ray has fitted the ones you're after. If he's not along shortly to confirm just PM him, i'm sure he'll be able to tell you where to get them.

I've had these type on both my Varadero's, and to be honest I found that the wind whips around the edge and I always ended up with a cold little finger, spreading to the side of my hand and then ultimatly the whole hand. When I changed to the wrap around ones this problem went away - always stuck with wrap around since.

Not sure if anyone else has discvoered this, but the size isn't that important either, a well designed smaller guard can be superior to a large guard. I have a small profile Acerbis one on my TTR (tried a few on that bike) and these are far better than the bigger guards for keeping the wind off.

I've seen some fitted from a V Strom with a small amount of modification.

I dont like wrap around guards after I watched my friend break his wrist clean through when he went over the handlebars with them fitted, right in front of me. I have also been forced to remove them from my enduro bike during scrutineering for a motocross race for the same reason.
In the light of this I will put up with cold little fingers!! At least some of my hand will be a bit warmer.
I ordered some non wrap around today from the "hi-level" catalogue for the massive sum of 6. I'll let you all know what they are like when they arrive.

Hi, Ive heard suzuki DRZ ones fit easier than Yamaha ones. Have also seen someone's Tenere fitted with KTM wraparounds with the bar ends over the ends of them using a threaded washer if that makes sense! :037:
