Boots Recomended Please

I'm after some new boots but can't seem to find a good replacement for my Hein Gericke Touregs.

So can anyone recommend some.

They need to be black with 4 metal claps MX style but need to be flexible enough to change gear unlike some I've tried.

Cheers.. ;0)

hi badga,
i know these are not mx boots but i have a pair and swear by them ( frank thomas pro stunt boot ) from j&s comfie as hell :-)

Get the TCX (Oxtar) Infinity, they are mid way between an MX boot and a touring boot.

2 Buckles and a velcro flap, goretex and still has good ankle/shin protection but the ability to move the ankle.

Those TCX (Oxtar) Infinity are very similar to the ones I have... I suppose what I'm after is some trials boots which are softer than MX for ease of gear changing etc. Thanks for the great pic... ;0)

Hein Gericke Touregs - they've been updated a bit now though.

You can get a MX style Toureg boot, but they are as stiff as hell, I have a pair for off road, make you walk like a penguin!

Do a search for either berik atv or forma atv i had both and would recomend them as they are like slippers from brand new

Another vote for these as I have them myself. Extremely comfortable and utterly waterproof. They are also a Ride magazine favourite so offer good protection according to their tests

Here +1: I also recommend these boots(got them too!), comfortable-waterproof-good support&protection, good allroad touring boot.

I know this is an old post now but have a look at some of the ATV boots out there they look to be a great comprimise of comfort and protection, FORMA springs to mind but there are loads of others out there. Not tried them myself but definatly looking for something better than my old axos that are reiculously stiff and make riding my Ten a pain.:Gangsta2_9BI664:

I am in the market for some new boots and my mind says TCX Infinity boots but the cheapest I have found is 170 delivered from www.topgearsuperstore

I am also looking at Probiker Scout and Held 8770 Seguro both enduro syle adventure touring boots which are cheaper ie 110 and 122 respectively.

Anyone tried the above Scout or Held boots before I make my decision?

Appreciate any advice.
thanks.

I've just purchased a pair of these, they are identicle to the Hein Gericke Tuareg boots, but a little stiffer, and the fastners are a bit stiffer, and the leather gets in the way when you fasten them - a bit of a pain to be honest. If I was spending my money again I would go for the HG ones. A bit cheaper and just the same.

Thanks. I had a check on the HG website and the Tuareg looks really good but they dont say they are waterproof like the TCX Infinity's?

How did you find this?

Gas_Up_Lets_Go 06-07-09 14:26

I've already got the HG boots, was going to get another pair (never let in a drop in the 5 years I've had them, but the new manager in HG is an arse, so I went elseware....

The two boots are almost identicle.

Stridey 06-07-09 14:34

The HG boots look quite MX.

Is it these you had or wished you had bought instead of the TCX Infinity?

Gas_Up_Lets_Go 06-07-09 15:15

Ah,

I have a pair of them also, very very stiff, great of-road boots. not waterproof and make you walk like a peguin!

Sorry, HG have changed the name, the one I have just replaced carry the Tuarge logo, but now they are these ones:

http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/shop/p...oducts_id/4075

But I see the prices are back up too, when I was looking a couple of months ago they were priced at 159 or 169, can't remember.

Very good boots.

Stridey 24-09-09 22:58

Hi
Just got a pair of Held Seguro boots- see pic. http://www.getgeared.co.uk/core/medi...aba11b08c6519c

Very light and extremely comfortable! Better than the Probiker Scouts that I had for a month or so(returned them as slight fault).

You can only get them from Getgeared in Leatherhead I think as I haven't seen them advertised anywhere else. about 122.00 inc delivery. Quick delivery 2 days.

Tommy07 01-10-09 23:00

Hey all,
I bought a pair of BMW Santiago about 3 months ago. They fit like a slipper and I tkink they look pretty cool. Walking is no problem although the steel protector on the toe felt a little weird, waterproof as well. They were expensive i paid 190 but they do have a 2 year warranty.

Kev 02-10-09 02:07

I never ride off road on my X but still want the protection, so ride in these.

jiauka 02-10-09 14:15

Alpinestar Tech10, they are GREAT boots, they are MX, but a lot confortable and fully waterproof, however, they are not cheap.

2 weeks ago I was riding with "road boots" out of the tarmac with my ten and I ended up with 2 borken metatarsio :(

I will never ride again offroad withour my beloved alpinestar

have fun,

j.

New boots

I just got a pair of Forma Adventure boots and I'm well impressed with them and the supplier TNT Racing and Motocross. Waterproof, robust and comfy and well suited to the Tenere. Well cool.

Sidi Adventure Boots

Hi,

I have the Sidi Adventure Boots and I love it. Not the cheapest but waterproof and after 2 years using it an this year standing in icelandic rivers ;-) they are still waterproof.

But you have to have small feet. If you have wide feet, these boots won't fit.

Best Regards
Martin

I have just bought a pair of Alpinestar tech 3 enduro, they are heavy and unbending but I went out for a short 5 mile ride and they were ok to change gear etc, I left to tops a bit loose to give a bit of flex. I expect some flex to work in but not much. I don't think they will keep out standing in water the inner flap is not water proof but should be ok riding through water.

One one problem, my son said they look 'camp' and if I should go to Brighton 'to keep my bum on my bike' what does he mean?

Will let you know how I get on, brought from 1stMX

Petenz 30-11-12 20:46

I bought a pair of Forma ADV boots a few weeks back...
was after a soft flexable boot to use for ADV & trials rideing..
they are soft/fexable new but after a couple of rides they are almost
like sneakers to wear..

These................
http://www.formaboots.com/site/sched...peedway&id=121

PS... don't buy Fly boots... have a new pair I have only used twice
not a good boot even at the cheap prise they are...

ScottyD 30-11-12 22:40

+1 on the Forma boots. I got a pair of Adventures & they are sooo comfy.

W2 4 Dirt boot

Don't know if anyone's interested but I've just got a pair of W2 4 Dirt boots for 130 from Motolegends.com
They do a best price less 10% deal and are advertised at 160 but I've found them at modulemoto.co.uk for 145 so Motolegends did them for 130 inc P&P.
They have a few other boots on thier site as well.
