Yep I think it could be a duff plug or worse case the coil. I've ordered a new plug so I should be able test it soon.

I threw the old one away when I serviced it. I'll remember that for the future!

I understand that the Workshop Manual for the Z isn't far away...... It will have the coil resistance values in it, so you can check.
