4.60 x 17 is a little narrow for the 2.75" rim fitted to the rear of the XTZ.
130/80 x 17 is needed in the TW range.
At present I have Pirelli MT21, front 90/90 x 21, rear 130/90 x 17. I am very pleased with the off road performance. They do tend to hum a bit on tarmac, and I reckon 1500-2000 miles to a rear.

Today they have put on the TW's 301 and 302 on my tenere.
I did a bit off-road today and they are much better in the mud than the tourance. On road, I don't know, I still have to find the limitations. Because the tires are new, I was riding carefully.

I Like the TW's a lot, they are good on asphalt to, even in heavy rain. They give more confidence than the standard Tourances. I hope to get 6000 km's out of it. They are ok in the mud, perfect on gravel.
The only thing I dont like, is that the rear tyre is to thin (I like fat tyres). Within a few weeks I'm going to the "Jura mountains" in france, I think I'm gonna try a tkc rear then.
