The K60 and K60 Snowtex do look the same, but they are designed for different weather conditions.

The 'normal' K60 is a good allroad, allyear tyre. The Snowtex is especially for winterconditions. They have a (much) better grid in cold conditions.

IMPORTANT!!!!!! The Snowtex is designed for the winter, and should be used in winter only.

It is the 'normal' K60 I have ordered borus, but thanks for the heads-up :smilies0349:

As a blast from the past I've just taken delivery of a pair of the K60 Snowtex for this winter. First impressions are they are very soft. I'm hiding off fitting until nov/dec as we tend to get some here from mid dec through to feb. I hope they aren't like the Mitas e07s in their Tarmac performance!

Fitted back in end of November and managed about 1200 miles before I was laid up after a shoulder operation. Rear seemed to be flatting off a little, but front was fine. Grip was very good in the colder weather due to high silica content. Good in the wet too. Tread would be ok for dirt tracks but would clag in mud.

I fitted a set of K60 Silica winter tyres about 2,000 miles ago - mainly for a camping trip to Chemnitz earlier this month.

Stable and very grippy loaded up on cold, wet motorways and cold, greasy back roads in eastern Germany - even coped well with wet cobbled streets and slushy snowfall.

I'm not sure about the mileage I'll get out of them - I'll keep you posted.

but certainly as a cold weather, winter tyre they're very impressive.
