Tour X for me. Solved most of the wind noise and upward cold air by adding some windproof material with velcro over the lower opening, nice and snug now.

Surely after spending that much on a helmet you should'nt have to modify it ?

Agreed Arai should have added the wind curtain as an option. Didnt take much to do the mod anyway, personal pref I guess.

Hey Norton can you put a pic on of the mod to the Tour X please

Closed. The back edge moulds against throat when on, no pressure though as the material has an elastic nature.

Open. Just rip apart the velcro. I only need to open the side where the buckle is and leave the rest in situ.

Stuck some velcro to the underside of the helmet then made the wind curtain from an old ColdKillers neck warmer (great windstopper material) I guess any dense material would work.

Stiched the other part of the velcro to this. That's it.

In the Summer I just take it off (and leave the velco on the helmet)

Pretty sure plenty of TourX owners would want one if Arai made them.

Great thing is that it can't be seen when on unlike some wind curtains I have seen.

Belive me the effort is well worth it as it makes a huge improvement in warmth and noise.

I used a Roof Daytona for 2 years and it was great. looked good and was quiet. 130 here...

I replaced it with the BMW Enduro helmet. I love this lid and would replace it with another. It's made by Uvex for BMW and seems well made. The peak is removeable but I leave it on even now as It's really useful as a sun shade. It's reasonably quiet too. The best thing about this type of helmet is the peripheral vision you get with such a wide opening. A new carbon and kevlar shell is on the way which will make a light helmet even lighter. It can be used without the peak and visor with goggles off-road. It looks pretty funky too!
