Looks like corrosion to me, I would take it back to the dealer to see what they say.

When I picked up my new Ten on Thursday the dealer mentioned that they had successfully managed to get warranty claims for 'little' things like finish and basically advised that if I had any issues with this that they would be happy to look for me. I would imagine that as long as you can get the dealer to agree this could be fixed under warranty.

I thought that was pretty good of them, especially since I expect to be covering 40-50k miles during my warranty period

shayne,

YAM Customer Service details are as follows:-

Sopwith Drive
Brooklands
Weybridge
Surrey
KT13 0UZ

Telephone 01932 - 358000 and ask for the Customer Services dept.

Whatever you discuss they will ask you to put in writing before they will investigate.

Hope that helps

I would not expect much joy out of them to be honest as i tried getting my bike sorted through them for surging problems and even wrote letters to the managing director and they just said there is nothing wrong with the bike and don`t recognise any faults with there ecu`s.
good luck anyway.

beebs,

the surging issue will never be recognised or resolved via Yamaha for pre-2009 model bikes, especially those fitted with the lambda sensor.

However, the new 2009 model has a new ECU and an alledged new s/w map, and accorrding to sources on this forum it doesnt surge anymore. More than likely YAMAHA will never admit liability due to the number of claims we would all make.

On the cracked paint, and stuff similar to that i think that they may be pretty helpful, fingers crossed anyway.

Cheers

WB
