SW-Motech parts for the Tenere

As mentioned, I visited the Intermot today and there were a lot of parts for our Tenere. Here are some pics of the parts by SW-Motech. Greetz, Hans.

Nice! The black/red looks pimp. :icon_mrgreen:

dallas 10-10-08 18:35

Well, they only made the parts they developed, red, to stand out. But I gotta admit, it looks cool!

is the crash bars and sump guard all one piece , looks good but hope it comes in black as well

They're gonna be black, they only made them red to stand out for the exhibition. Hans.

Hey Dallas, good work. I plan to go there myself tomorrow (was originally going to go today but something came up). Both Touratech and SW-motech came up with some exciting stuff (not so exciting for the wallet). Quick question: does the Touratech sumpguard have an integrated toolbox? If so, is it a lockable box or not? Any idea on the cost? I will check it out myself tomorrow, but just can't contain my excitement and want to ask that.

The toolbox can be fitted to the large bashplate(they got a small and a large bashplate) and yes it's lockable. Prices: large bashplate 199,-, toolbox 52,- euro's. Hans.

Some more examples of most wanted parts:
handguards 79,-; spoilers 20,-; spoiler for windshield 74,-; wide ribbed footpegs 83,- + adapters needed 49,-; gps holding bar(mounted to bar above the cockpit, to fit holder for gps) 34,-; tankbag 14/20lt 115,-; pannierrack 214,-; luggagerack 49,-(s) 52,-(l).
Greetz, Hans.

Many thanks Dallas.

Flippin' eck, they're crooks!

Still, they do look very nicely made...

Dallas - the other prices you've quoted above are for the Touratech parts too yes?

Also, did you get a good look at the SW Motech pannier frames? - were they the EVO quick release ones? what did you think of them (compared to Touratech's pannier frames)?

The reason I ask is because I am looking for some frames to attach Pelican cases to - Caribou Cases do an adapter kit to mount their Peli-cases to the SW Motech frames, but I need them to be strong...

The prices were indeed for the Touratech parts. I think the Touratech rack looks sturdier then the SW-Motech rack(it's indeed the EVO rack system), but I only had a quick glance. The black panniers are something you'd like for your Tenere, don't ya JMo? Greetz, Hans.

Hee hee - yes, they gotta be black x

I really want to fit Pelican cases as the panniers themselves, the problem will be fixing them to the rack - I could use Touratch's universal puck system (on the Touratch 18mm rack), but these are accessed from inside the case, and the Pelicans being side rather than top opening means you'd have to pull everything out to disconnect the boxes each time. (not too much of a problem with bag liners, but the whole point of using Pelicans is because they are like waterproof suitcases).

Caribou do a quick release system for the SW Motech EVO frames, but without seeing them I don't know if they could be converted to fit the Touratech frames?

I guess the quest continues...
