Baffle(DBkiller) picture
Hi guys!! Can anyone help me with a picture of a removed baffle?
I'm in the process of installing some Leo Vince SBK Replica Evo II on the Tenere and I believe that the baffle is different (the cans are from a Hornet 2007). Thanks a lot!! |
I just fitted my leo's , love the look and the sound of it , but , there is a but offcourse :)
question for those running them , First I fitted the mufflers directly onto the pipes , and tested the sound , wow! loud even very loud compared to stock , but I thought , ahh, naah it's ok , untill I took it around the block , the backfiring is riduculous loud ! , every bang makes the same sound as you would here something explode , being ,loudddddddd, then I tried it with the silencers removed , offcourse , very very loud, such a nice sound , but waaaay to loud then I took a better look inside the box and found some stupid small plates (same diameter as the pipes) with some holes in , friend of mine said , well probably you have to fit those in between the muffler and the linking pipe , and that's what we did , result => much softer sound , but still ok , the banging is still there but is now just sounding cool ... ok now my question , did all of you fit this plate ? as I don't see anything written on the very short manual ... and another thing , I'm running stock engine with stock air intake , just took the ten for a short trip in the neighborhood and the result , I'm missing power !!! , seriously , the bikes is dead above 4000-5000 , I can fully pull the gas , and the bike does not react like it did with the stock muffler ... , do I really need the change the air intake ? with the stage one ? or am I missing something here .... thanks you all ! |
What plates? ;)
|
problem solved ,
cut off the snorkel with a knife which gives you exactly the same thing as they sell at dna nice sound , and runs great now , even with the plates fitted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViXtAIoQR4I |
Sounds good Kemizz.
The popping (or banging if you've a loud zorst) sound is the AIS (Air Intake Sensor) that opens a solenoid connecting the airbox to the exhaust port to burn off unburnt fuel on a closed throttle and that's where the popping comes from. I've removed the pipe and capped the connectors at both ends. Search the forum for AIS mod.. You may also want to try Kev's fuel mod and a free flowing air filter to compliment the pipes and snorkel mod.. Once you start, there's no stopping.. |
The small round plates with 5 holes in it will restrict the flow even worse the the standard exhaust. I have done a back to back test when I had mine, the Discs will quieten the leo's but you definitely lose power.

Hi All,
Does anyone here have the exhaust emission test result for the Leo Vince pipe? I badly need it for the inspection for my exhaust. A pdf scan will do. I bought mine online, and it doesn't have this test result. Do the rest of you have it when you got it from the dealer?? I'm worried now that this pipe won't receive it's legal status here just because of one document.. :( ZewL |
Maybe its on the leovince site.
They also have sound check documents on there |

I did check their website, and it wasn't there. I've emailed Leo Vince regarding this and hoping that they would reply by this coming week..It would be such a loss for me to sell it off after just getting it..:cry[1]: Rgds, ZewL |
Hello there.
Today I fitted a set of Leo's on my bike as well, what a difference :). But does anybody have any hints on what to do with the large hole there is now under the seat. I reckon the underside of my seat, battery area etc will fill up with dirt, water etc like this.. The only thing i could think off quickly is make a rubber flab out of an old innertube. Soe folks at the Dutch XT660 forum ointed out his real nice storage someone has posted over here, but that's a little out of my league.. regards, Jurre |

SW-Motech racks fit with the Leo's. http://94.100.123.67/1081250001-1081...80_6_Ssm7.jpeg |

Thanksbut Ive already fixed & fitted the MM frames to my bike :cry[1]:. A ride to the nearest Leo Vince supplier next Spring then...:112: |
I dont think there is much of a difference between all the racks.
I bought my Leo from Ebay, a guy from italy. Just costed over 400. |

As for improvements, a quick dyno run showed 47.75bhp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsVd0yLsSZE They aren't really any lighter than OE, and in the end I decided they weren't worth it so sold them. I wouldn't expect any problems with the MM pannier frames, my home made frames are very close fitting and were fine with the LVs http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...s/IMG_3127.jpg |
Nice Bike
I have the same pipes and never tried them without the baffles. They are loud enough with them in.
Have fun pop, pop, pop etc.. |
At first i didn't have to use the baffles.
But at 15000km it suddenly got lots of db's louder? Right now i cant drive past animals without scaring them, birds/horses fly/run away at 300m when it pops. So since 5000km i drive with the baffles in, still louder than it was at first. Hope it will be back to normal after the 20000km check. Expect it to be back from the dealer at the end of next week. |
I got the Leovinces shortly after I bought the bike in june 08 and I love them! Much less poppin(almost none), since the AIS has been blocked, much more relaxed ridin', I think. Just the warm thumpersound.....
For the rest, it's still standard, no Powercommander or other airfilter or such and it runs just fine with still good fuel economy(1:25 on backroads and 1:20 on fast highway stretches). Greetz, Hans. |
I wouldn't want them without the popping.
It doesn't pop all the time, so its no problem. I dont see why it would be more relaxed. |
Each its own.....oftewel, ieder zn smaak.

you may want to look at re-packing them, this should result in less noise. I did it with my absolute pipe on my TTR and the result was great :tongue9: |

I never let the rain come into the pipes. Never heard anyone talking about repacking their Leo's. Dallastx has them for a longer period than me and as far as i know he haven't repacked them yet. |
Yep, theyre doin just fine, for about 48.000kms so far. Njema problema!!
|
For information purposes..I checked my spark plug yesterday and found its colour is perfect indicating an engine running at optimum.
My moto has the Leo Vince's,a foam air filter,AIS blocked off and 5000kms Once I order a side filter cover it might run a bit lean due to more air getting in. I will check come the time. :) |
Where can i buy one of these exhaust?
Hi, im from Chile and im need a store to buy LEOVINCE EXHAUST for my xt660z and ship it to Chile.
