I Need Help!!

Okay guys, I need to start producing cams and adjustable timing gears for these engines. I need a factory cam and timing gear so I can get this on a cam doctor, and know what direction I need to go.

I also desperately need to be able to source the factory cam gears and head bolts. I am having a hard time finding a way to import these to the US:BangHead:

Kenny,

Have you asked Kev our Aussie Tech Guru who may well have some spare stuff or may be able to point you in the right direction.

Cheers

I have already offered my standard XTX cam to Kenny last week, the only catch is I need it back, so when I sell my bike I can put it back to standard.

I have contacted a few forum members last week who have spare cams & they all want to keep them for now.

My offer still stands to Kenny, if he wants to borrow my cam. Otherwise I will find him a cam soon.

Cheers Kev,

Apologies if it appeared i was offering your stuff without prior consultation :(

I appreciate the offer to borrow your cam. I am afraid of what could happen to it in transit, or during testing. Knocking a cam off the test bench does wonders for lobe shape.:eusa_doh:
Just finding a dealer that would sell me new OEM parts would be fantastic! My Google searches only turn up US based companies that aren't able to get these parts

Kenny,

As part of the potential work that you will be doing for me does my donor head come with the original Cam fitted?, as if it does you can have that with pleasure. However, if the Cam is somewhere else then I'm not able to help i'm afraid at this moment in time.

Cheers

I hope so, because you will get a parts discount!:glasses1:

Does anyone out there have a local dealer they could put me in contact with?
If there is anyone out there that would put in an order for me, I could discount parts to pay you for your time:glasses1:

Sorry Kenny but I have not been following all the threads, your mods go beyond what I would normally do. But I can Get you details of My local Yamaha Dealer in Galashiels Scotland, and I know he can get all the Yamaha parts. If he cannot ship to you then I could arrange for this. :sunny:

I have used them and if it is in the main Yamaha stores you get it the same week. If the parts have to come from Japan they take longer.:icon_pale:

Their web page.

Ask for Darrel and say Colin Ross sent you.

kenny I can always help out with parts as I get trade price from Yamaha. The parts are normaly cheaper from the UK for the XT in some cases.

Let me know what you are after & I can get some prices for you if you want.

Guys don't forget I have a full engine burning a hole in my garden shed.

Kenny could do wonders if he had this whole engine it would be an investement for him that could warrant a great deal of return for him once he has stripped it he could build performance parts for it, from A to Z with endless possibility both for him and the forum members.
