Faded seat on my XTX
The color & material pattern have disappeared on one side of my seat, it's now a dirty shade of brown. Trawling the net i discovered that Bagster recover seats for the XT. Does anybody have one of their seats or now of someone who does?

You can buy a new one via your local YAM dealer. They are approx 20-25 if i remember rightly. You then need someone to fit it for you, i found a local chap and that cost an additional 10. WB |
The Yamaha seat covers used to be dirt cheap, I bought my first one when I changed the colour of the bike from gray/black to red/black in 2005 and costed me 18 plus vat, now the same one I bought 5 weeks ago was 38 plus vat!! incredible mark up but they showed me the prices on their computer system and I couldn't argue with them. grrrr
It might have to do with the fact that the red/black is a discountinued range and that for them to keep the item in stock they need to bump up the prices, who knows, If that is true then the current colour covers might still be cheaper. |
My friend have a sawing shop so i see what he done for some seats of motobike :thumbsup[1]: some material, not slippery.

Kev had a new black seat made by someone in Oz that looked the mutts nuts, give him a pm and he may be able to put you in touch with the guy. He may still do the same stuff in colours that you want for a good price.

Faded seat on XTR
So, the blue part of the seat on my 2011 XTR is faded as hell to a splotchy off-white colour. I leave it parked at work daily in partial sun but it snuck up on me and I didn't realise it was fading so badly - just on the one side (that faces up when its on its stand). I should've put a towel or something over the seat but... lessons learned. The rest of the seat and bike are still like new but the side of the seat looks bad so I gotta do something about it.
New seat covers are stupidly expensive, and the vinyl on the existing seat is otherwise in good nic so I don't really want to replace it... Thinking of trying to re-colour it using a product like Dupli-Colour Vinyl & Fabric paint. see: https://duplicolor.com/product/vinyl-and-fabric-coating There's few YouTube clips showing how people have used it on car seats etc and it sounds like it could be a go-er. Anyone tried this? Or have another solution for restoring yer seat? |
Hi guys
Excuse me because I do not speak English very well (I am Spanish, from the Canary Islands). I recently purchased a custom seat cover for me, for a bike. I bought it on a website with domain ".com" (but the web is from Greece). There are many variety of colors, customizations and different bike models. If any moderator or admin authorizes me, I paste the link to the web. The seat cover that I bought is the following: [Edit]: Extension domain http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/...psqxtqafe5.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/...psoyfq9dcc.jpg |
