I have bought the H4 bi-xenon version of the conversion kit because it's 2in1 (low/high) as is the halogen bulb that is standard on our bikes.

These are the components that you get. the corresponding numbers that i've written by the connectors go together. easy plug and play

note: when i bought the set it came with a switch so you can turn the lights on/off but it didn't work on my bike so had to return it and got an other cable without the switch. (sometimes when starting the bike ,the bike doesn't produce enough power to turn on the xenon. a simple click on your low/high beam button will turn on your lights)

undo the 2 screws left and right and pull the headlight+holder up and out of its position and let it rest on your front mudgard.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v40/skorzeny88/4.jpg
take out the halogenbulb by removing the plastic holder.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v40/skorzeny88/5.jpg
the sticky part: you'll have to make the hole a little bigger or else the xenonbulbholder won't fit. i used a vile and removed the bits by blowing them out. make the hole a little bigger then nessecary or else you will have a hell of a time when you want to take the holder out at another time

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...zeny88/6-1.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...zeny88/7-1.jpg
take the connector(5) and connect it with the bike's original halogenbulbconnector (this will provide power to the xenon so you don't have to connect wire's to the battery

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...zeny88/8-1.jpg
connect the power cable from the ballast(1) to the other power cable(1)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...zeny88/9-1.jpg
tuck everything but the remaining connectors away under the dashboard, there is enough space there and even a place where you can put in the ballast. the ballast can get warm, even can discolour the plasti but under there that's no problem.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...eny88/10-1.jpg
you will end up with 3 remaining connectors to attach to the headlight

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...eny88/11-1.jpg
tie-ripped

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v40/skorzeny88/12.jpg
take the bi-xenon bulbholder and place it in the hole as in the pictures
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v40/skorzeny88/13.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...eny88/14-1.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v40/skorzeny88/15.jpg
replace the plastic holder, some force is needed but fits perfectly

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v40/skorzeny88/16.jpg
on the side are markings that say open / lock.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v40/skorzeny88/17.jpg
on the side an arrow to correspond with the markings

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v40/skorzeny88/18.jpg
replace the rubber shield

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v40/skorzeny88/19.jpg
place the xenonbulb by using the markings and turning the bulb clockwise as in the picture above.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v40/skorzeny88/20.jpg
connect the remaining connectors and put the rest of the headlight back together. done!

one more tip: test everything in the beginning before you start to see if it all works...

Excellent guide there mate, do you have a link to where you bought this from? Ebay?

skorzeny 16-07-08 00:02

Sure...

www.pilotxenon.com/

They only list shops in Holland and Belgium but you can probably get it mailed.
You can find sets on ebay and such but i didn't want to take the risk of buying something unknown and with the probability of being made of poor quality.
So after searching on Dutch forums this one came recommended best (and comes with a 2 year guaranty) , nevertheless there should be good alternatives if you search around a bit...

Bi-Xenon are the most expensive , around 130 and normal xenon around 90.

Just fitted my Hi/Lo HID kit. We now have light! 50 all in delivered seemed like a good deal to me.

It's a different kit to the one already shown so I will post up a couple of pics and a little fitting help as it it different in a couple of places.

Couple of piccies now 1st one shows the kit I bought, second one shows the kit fitted before putting the headlight assembly back in.

As I said, this kit was 50 delivered from Epay which I think is a bargain. It's not as plug and play as Skorzeny's kit in that 1. there isn't a 3-pin plug that goes straight into the original plug and 2. you need to provide power directly from the battery.

I have a feeling why this kit is made as such- supplying the amperage and power required to ignite a 28Kv drive isn't easy. Doing it through the original 3 pin H4 plug probably isn't ideal and this may be why Skorzeny reported the issue of having to switch between hi/lo sometimes to get ignition. This is probably because the starter motor is cranking at the same time as the HID is trying to light. Having a feed direct from the battery would go some way towards alleviating this. Also, my kit was fed via a 20A fuse. I don't think I would be happy pulling that much current through the standard 3 pin plug. Not knocking Skorzeny's kit- it obviously works- it's just two different ways of doing it.

Aside from the regular fitting, I had to fit 3 spade terminals to the kit fit into the old 3 pin H4 bulb plug. The 3 pin plug feed (on this kit) is used purely as a low power feed to switch the Hi/Lo HID control box. I then had to extend the + and - high power feeds (they were not long enough) direct to the battery. Again not a big job. As per Skorzeny's kit, I also had to Dremmel out the headlight bulb hole a little to get the HID bulb in. Other than that, pretty straightfoward and everything fits behind the headlight.

I will try and post up some pics of it working at night- will be difficult to show just how well HID's work but will have a go. Note that the supplier can provide kits with 6000k, 8000k, 10000k and 12000k bulbs. I went for the 8000k. The 6000k actually gives more light output but the 8000k gives more of that HID 'blue' sheen. The 10k and 12k give even more blue but at the cost of light output.

Just for info, the kit i bought was just the newest version they had.
There were two other (older ) versions, one with the cables running directly to the battery and the other more similar to mine but with a bigger transformator and a on/off switch for switching the xenon on after starting.
Tried the last one first but it didn't work so brought it back and installed the one i have now.
