sgt1 and pcIII installed

Hello Kev,

Just installed the stg1 cam and the PCIII,OHHHH man the bike is great a lot of power in mid going all the way to rev limiter, there is a loss in the botton but nothing so bad.First I`ve installed the stg1 with the Kev mod and went for a ride the bike runs well but with a lag in acceleration between the mid to the top so ive installed the PCIII with the CCC big bore Frans new map and the bike got worse than with the Kev mod felling to rich I thing because the comsumption was too much ,so I send your custom map XT700 big bore +stg1 and guess what the bike is great smooth no lag in acceleration and fuel comsumption is in 20Km per liter can you believe it.I will dyno my bike soon to see if the the guy can make a better map that I thing is difficult, the bike is almost perfect pushing hard and smooth at the same time with a incredible fuel comsumption.:041::041::041::041:the bike one time hited the rev limiter in 5th gear 190Km for my lucky I weigh 60Kg This make some difference:deathmetal[1]::deathmetal[1]:

Very good news. :yahoo:

I will move this thread to the main forum from the Ask Kev Section for everyone to read.

I new the Kev Fuel Mod would not work with a high lift Cam & did mention this to you before, but thanks for trying it anyway & reporting your findings.

You must remove the Kev Fuel Mod & only run the PCIII.

Please post the dyno run results with HP & Torque & send me your custom fuel map once it has run on the dyno.

With this Stage 1 Hot Cam my bike starts to pull hard from 4500RPM all the way to the rev limiter. My top end is reach very quickly, normally from 95MPH the pick up is very slow, now it just pulls hard all the way to the rev limiter.

Can you also list all the mods on your bike as well as your ECU number, so we can give everyone the full picture on how your bike goes with all it's mod on the dyno.

Well done.

:icon_burnout[1]:Yamaha should release the XT like this from factory a lot better i can say exciting:blob1::blob1::blob1:.As soon as I had my bike on dyno I will send you the map and my bike specs,The bike is so great that im afraid the guy mess up everything ,but I will run the bike on dyno like it is and see result, and then make the new map to see if there is some gain.:icon_burnout[1]:

You need to buy a complete Raptor 700 camshaft with sprocket & decomprssioner, then you buy a Stage 1/2/3 Raptor Hot Cam off Ebay & fit it to your XT660.

I have a complete Raptor camshaft for sale if you are looking for one.

This is how it is done.

You need a 700 Raptor 2006 to 2008 cam shaft, the Hot Cam will fit all these years.

To give you some thing to work with, I want 60 pounds for the complete Raptor camshaft posted, or 50 pound for the decompressioner bits + sprocket posted, pic below.

Hmm ok its possible, first I ask when you say this " You need to buy a complete Raptor 700 camshaft with sprocket & decomprssioner then you buy a Stage 1/2/3 Raptor Hot Cam" why I need to buy two camshaft?(Oem raptor camshaft and a Raptor hot cam) or maybe I understand wrong? :)

Sorry I did not explain my self clearly. It is explained in the 700 conversion post that I gave you.

It is cheaper to buy a second hand complete Raptor 700 camshaft then to buy the decompression bits & sprocket new from Yamaha, it is almost imposable to find the decompression & sprocket bits second hand.

I priced up the decompression parts with sprocket from Yamaha & they quoted me 160 pounds for the bits, I got a complete second hand Raptor cam shaft from the USA for 60 Pounds posted with all the bits for a friend who does not want them now & now own two sets, I do not need two complete Raptor 700 cam shafts, so one is up for sale.

If you buy a second hand complete raptor cam shaft you only use the decompression parts with sprocket, then fit them to a Hot Cam of your choice.

Hot Cams make 3 different Hot Cams for the Raptor 700.

Stage 1 which offers good mid range power with better power up top compared with the XT standard cam. This cam looses the least power low down.

Stage 2 hot cam offers good top end power with a loss in power low down.

Stage 3 hot cam offers all the power up top, the XT can not take full advantage of this stage 3 cam as the XT660 hits the rev limiter at 7200rpm & this cam shaft is designed to rev above 8000rpm.

Hope that clears things up for you. The 3 graphs are in the order of Stage 1, stage 2, stage 3.

Ok no problem I see,
Buying second hand I know its better, then I thing I didn't understand something;
first have you a oem camshaft or hotcam ?? after
I understand like this ;
I have to buy these parts
1-decompression parts with sprocket from Yamaha
2-I prefer Stage-2 Hot Cam from HotCam
and
3-Raptor oem camshaft, from Kev :)
I will buy all this, is it ??
Iam sorry I ask all things on my mind because
I live in Turkiye I never find this parts here,
espacially raptor parts then if I want to bought that parts
other countries it comes to very expensive,
I search about that parts in the internet I find in US
80 usd for yamaha parts (exc. camshaft)
190 usd for hot cam stage-2 then I hope you understand me
first my part list is ok??

Kev 26-06-09 13:48

We seem to be going in circles.

You need these parts to make the Hot Cam fit the XT. You can buy them from Yamaha or find them second hand.

I have these parts for sale if you are interested. A complete Raptor 700 cam shaft with decompression bits & sprocket for US$90.00 posted.

http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...x/DSCF2608.jpg

You can buy a stage 2 hot cam from here for US$159.00.

Here is a second hand Raptor 700 cam shaft US$85.00, you would still need the sprocket.

You need to buy 2 extra bolts, giving a total of 4 bolts as the photo above.
