Found this old topic and wondered if somebody can advise which rear paddock stand would be best for a 2009 XT660X?

I don't see anywhere for paddock stand bobbins on the swing arms (no threaded attachment points like on the sports bikes I'm used to) so guess this type of stand is not for the XT, there goes my idea of using my old R1 stand.

Thanks

I,ve got the same stands as in the pic above BUT they are a pain in the arse on the XTX with the latest swing arm !! i,ve almost lost the bike off the rear 1 more times than I care to remember and i,ve never used the front 1!
Kev has a pic of his bike on 1 of those sizzor jacks under his bike straight on the exhaust pipes with the bike well clear of the ground.

I've got the ones in the picture and I used them on all my XT's ie old steal swing arm and alloy swing arms (04X, 07X & Tenere). The rear is excellent but the front worried me especially on the Tenere. I would also recommend you buy the scissor type you put underneath.

If/when I get another bike I will replace the ones I have with the scissor type. The scissor type is better if you want to remove the swing arm or the front forks for service reasons.

Hope I'm not thrashing a dead donkey!!
BUT:
If I get universal type crash bobbins like these: http://members.multimania.co.uk/mgmo...h_bobbins.html
Can I then get a rear paddock stand with bobbin adaptors & use it for securely raising arse end of my XT (newer ally swingarm type)??
I'm getting nervous about propping my pride & joy on an axle stand every weekend to do chain lube & wheel cleaning etc - the side stand is not really designed to take all that weight IMHO.......

Bought a paddock stand at the bike show from M&P recently for 15. Works very well no problems whats so ever--why pay more.

Hi all, unsure if I'm doing this right (its my first time on here) I'm looking for a paddock stand (front and rear) for my 06 XT660r, I cannot view any of the photos on any of these links, did anyone find any stands that work well??
