Kev's Tail Tidy

I finaly got around to making my tail tidy, I wanted it to look different from what others have made.

I have used a led tail/stop light, I have a clear lens but perfer the red one, also led indicators. The number on the number plate is made up so need to cover it up.

I have used all the correct wiring terminal so it looks real good.

A big thanks goes to KLR for making it up to my spec's & drawings.

No competition to you this is a once off project.

I am alread on to the next mod, a performance mod, I will let you know next week how it turns out once it has been on the dyno.

Agree! I also felt satisfaction knowing that I had made my own, rather than buying one off a shelf!

That's great work Kev as usual :eusa_clap:

maxwell123455 01-05-08 10:21

Very nice, i like the way the 2 parts continue on down to make like 2 air stablizers not as if you need it as you always keep your bike going in a straight line. Known of this backing it into corners game!!!

Kev 01-05-08 13:39

I may still change the design a little, I will see.

I have known about the theroy for some time now, but never really tried it. It is a PCV valve, Positive Crankcase Vacuum valve.

The Raptor boys have tried it & say it works but with no Dyno results. So I have got one & hope to try it on the Dyno next week.

I took my bike for a ride today, first time in a month with this device on & could not realy tell the difference, the Dyno will tell me if it works. The wife nearly killed me when she found I had gone around the block with my stuffed leg. I said I was ok I took off my leg brace & could ride fine as long as I did not stop & put my leg down.

Pushed out the side stand before stopping & got off the right side of the bike & grabed my crutches, then sat down & fitted my leg brace back on, so easy I tell you. Then went & hid from the wife.:021::cwm10:

I think you will find that the wife is the boss in any house!!

Kev 02-05-08 00:17

No ones the boss in our house, just woman don't understand when a bloke can't ride his bike for a month he will make a plan some how.

The wife has been saying for the last month, I wonder what mod you going to do so you can ride your bike.

I need to get my bike on the dyno it is killing me. I need the fuel map sorted & to see the results of the 700 hot cam mod & do a few other tests while I am there.

Kev 03-05-08 07:01

Added some number plate lights.

Kev,

Is it a simple add on or do you need to do more engineering 'stuff' to the engine by fitting this PCV item?

Cheers

WB

Kev 03-05-08 10:01

I used a PCV valve from my local auto shop.

I had to open it up & modify it. I had to modify the exit end of the valve to allow for more air flow through & make a spacer for the spring so it had a quicker reaction time.

Once I have tested it on the Dyno I will tell all.

I used a valve like this one on Ebay.
