rack with 07 and CCC's

Ok, i'm fed up with using a tank bag, that either sounds the horn at innapropriate times, or turns on my hazards, and is also knackering the seat shape where it meets the tank.
Although i really don't want to spoil the lines of the bike, it looks like rack and top box time.
So has anyone found and fitted a rack to an 07 XTX with oval CCC's fitted. I was just wondering if there were any clearance/interference issues??

thanks for any help or recommendations

Nick

The Touratech light weight rack I fitted is very compact, and good value for the money.

I have the same TT rack with SWMotech Pannier racks I had to modify the rack to fit with the pannier rack (i.e. drill bigger holes for the pillion grip joiner to fit through). Did you have a similar problem?

dazzerrtw 01-11-07 18:42

The pannier racks are also Touratech,so the rack fit no problem.
It does say on thier site that the rack will fit with no mod's needed.

I may sell this one,and buy the HB one, because I need it to carry a lot of weight and the TT rack will not take the weight of 11lt fuel can and a tent.

nice tank bag fosters, i still havent had a chance to see if my old oxford one will fit on and not fault too much stuff. probably not knowing my luck. But 82.00 for a tank bag, bit expensive is it not. I got my old oxford one for 25.

After all that i decided to try one of those slip on tail pack things from OTR, should be ok for carting locks around and a few other bits. I'll give some feedback on it after some useage.

bikespod 12-11-07 19:55

well the tail pack from otr is pretty good, although i'd have to say for 50 squids they could have put quick release clips on the straps that attatch to the grab handles, as its a bit fiddly threading and unthreading the buckle all the time. It is small, and only useful for a lock and a collapsable rucksack plus a few other small things.

Naturally it turned up the day after my tank bag magnets picked up a huge rusty nail from work and trashed the paint on my tank :( to add insult Yamaha don't do touch up pots. Need some stickers now.
