I got me a new horn
Louder and while slightly bigger it fitted straight on the old bracket with no modifications needed, oh and it's frigging loud enough to be heard from quite a distance, wait til I scare the heck out of them dippy grannies in their Nissan Micra - revenge awaits..... yay :Speedy_Superhero_Q3
It costed me 5.99 + 2.50 postage, this is where I got it from: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-FIAMM12V-C...QQcmdZViewItem and here it is fitted to my bike (sorry about the dirt, I had to ride through a field last night to avoid a long diversion ;) ) http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...6092007297.jpg http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...6092007298.jpg |

I had one of those Stebal Nautilus horns on my old 250 and it was one of those fog horn type ones but it runs off your 12 volts battery, not air compressors like most. it was fu**ing loud:YellowWow_KKPB92: . I beep me mate in traffic once before i told him i got it he though it was the lorry beside him so he give him the fingers. So funny:smilielol: . Only thing is it is quite big, but i see they have brought out a compact version, dont know if it would fit into the oe horns place, but would be worth trying as it is LOUD AS F**K:notworthy[1]:

This is the one I got
http://www.biltema.fi/osteri/data/we.../43-1915_h.jpg
Rated at 110db it's considerably louder and bigger than the original one. It also has a lot lower pitch making the bike sound like something that might hurt if you don't pay attention. I had to remove the rubber mounting of the original horn, but I'm sure it'll survive without it too. The metal shield could keep it a bit cleaner and working for a bit longer time too. Price was 8 euros. |
