I really like your seat mod. but how do this affect ride/sit comfort?

I don`t know if i quite understand your explanation of this mod. Have you restitched the seat cover, or have you yust pulled the sides longer down and under the seat? Are you a sparetime taylor? One inch is 2,54 cm, how much did you really cut?

Hope you understand what i mean, this is how far my english goes..:occasion17:

No i didn't do it myself this man with a van came over to my garage, removed all the stitches, cut down the foam with this hot wire that just made the foam slice and ripple, then he had this staple gun and re-stitched the cover back on. all it costed me was �30 english pounds.
If you were in England i could reccomend it to you too as i did for KiwUK but i don't think he'll come all the to Norway for �30 pounds.
I am sure there are car seat repairmen in your town.... just look it up on the phone directory or internet search.

So the comfort has changed little or does this mod make it harder to drive for several hours?

I have such a business in my neigborhood. He refurbish carseats...ill stop by tomorrow and see if he can help me. And approximately how much did you cut?

2.5 incheswas sufficient in my case and there is no changes on the comfort of it. I still manage to do all day rides and my lower regions are as happy as before.

Thank you for your replies...there will be no lowering..at last i have to ask you..do the bike have two airfilters, or is it yust the one in the big box?

There is only one filter in the standard bike but... if you fit a DNA stage 2 filter this is none other than a side panel fully cut out and filled with a similar compund filter as a normal one, the result being a maximised air intake which so far is one of the best mod ever invented for this bike. Try it and you will be amazed.

Both this mods will be on my list for this bike..concerning the seat i may wait with both things until i get my new ECU. If they get it to function proparly..ill buy the filter kit, but i guess i will have to give it more fuel to compensate for the extra air to make it run properly.

Will this kit function with the standard settings or will it make the bike more jerk(y)?

I found this in MCN it may be of use

There is a replacement suspension link lowering kit for the XT660R (check chassis no. has DM01 in first eight digits) and it costs � 129 including p&p to UK.

Have a look at these picture to give you an idea

You can do this yourself if you remove the staples that hold the vinyl cover to the saddle peel the cover by one side and then you get a sharp cheese knife, cut as much foam as you need or have a professional saddle upholsterer to do it for you.
Hi, I am also a short s, and would also like to lower the seat height a little, however for some reason I cannot see the picture of the saddle in your reply. Is it possible to post the picture again?
