Yamaha warranty

Just wondered if you could just clear this up for me. I have a Yamaha warranty on the bike till the end of 2008. But was wondering if I put aftermarket cans on the bike, stage 1 and 2 filters and a power commander. Would this invalid my warranty on the bike? If the bike went for a service or something went wrong with the bike, would I just take it all off so the bike looked standard.

No mate, cans, filters and whatever do not invalidate the warranty unless what you are fitting interferes with the chassis, its safety and that of the rider. Yamaha offers a set of Akrapovic as an expensive add-on just so you know as you can see in the gallery pic on that yellow XTX.

Does that apply to rear light mods too?

From the Yamaha web page.

Warranty https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/shim.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/shim.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/shim.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif

1. Will my warranty be affected if the periodic service is done by a non - Yamaha dealer? https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif No. Warranty covers the unit for manufactured defects. The quality or lack of periodic service has no influence on whether a failure is a manufactured defect or not. Warranty doesn't cover failures caused by faulty workmanship by others. We recommend you use a Yamaha dealer. They are factory trained, have the necessary special tools and up to date information. https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/shim.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/shim.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif

https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif 2. Will the fitting of additional accessories (genuine or non genuine) to my motorcycle, affect the warranty? https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/ssl/images/spacer.gif No! However, any modification from standard may affect the performance and/or durability of the unit. Failures caused as a result of the accessory are not a manufactured defect and as such not covered by warranty.
