Crankshaft nut loosen

Hey, my -07 xtx crankshaft nut is loosen again :013: Basic rattling noice.

It holds up like 5tkm and then it comes loose again and its 3rd time now... Last time I used new wedge pin, medium loctite and 90Nm torgue to tight it up. Now I am planning to use new wedge pin, extra hard loctite, new lock washer and tight it up with ?compressed air wrench? as tight as possible :D Or how tight I can tight it with torgue wrench? 120Nm?

How have you done this yourself? Im bored to do this every summer.
Sorry my bad english, Im from Finland :D

1st engine was done as a precaution (it wasn't loose) .... 30,000kms later the 3rd gear shattered destroying the engine.

2nd engine installed with just 8000 kms and the nut torqued to 120nm as a precaution.... now 35,000 kms...no problems

Okay, I might keep my bike. It sounds so smooth and perfect now!

How much was the first engine's total mileage and why did 3rd gear shatter?

!st engine blew its 3rd gear at 46000 Kms, 2009 model and its engine number was inside the, well known range, of #6400 -9200..It's a common fault that will destroy an engine. Steel dog teeth flying around the inside at 4000 rpm causes a lot of shrapnel and damage that need forensic cleaning and bearing replacements at the very least. A new engine is much cheaper and simpler.

Valmeksi 30-06-19 09:54

Okay, my engine is older. -07 and #4757 so there should not be that 3rd gear problem coming.

Thanks for your help!
